UP!

I love the movie Up! It is so magical. I want a love like Ellie and Carl! I want to get married and have a cute little house where we're both so happy together. I want to have picnics and a "Paradise Falls" fund. I want to have babies (I realize this is different than in up...). I want to grow old with my Carl. And love my Carl so much that I'd fly my house with helium balloons to his dream destination. I also want to effect someone's life the way Carl effected Russ' life. I want to have a dog...and however cliche it may be, I want to name that dog Dug. I want to sit outside an ice cream parlor and count the red and blue cars. I can't wait to watch this movie with my Carl....it will be so magical. I want to mean to my Carl what Ellie means to her Carl. This movie has also given me a new motto...ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE!!! So, for the next little while, that is my motto. With the spirit of adventure I will tell myself "Adventure is out there!"

I'm ready to be done!

Snow College has been a really great experience and boy have I LOVED it! I've met great people...including my best friend, Kevin Wilder...I've had the BEST job ever that I have loved so much and learned a TON from, I've had fun times and sad times, high times and hard times, I've grown up a lot, I bought my FIRST CAR, I did great in some classes, not so great in other classes, and I would hope that maybe, just maybe, I had an impact on someone's life. As much as I have enjoyed my Snow College experience, and as much as I will miss is here, I am ready to be done. I want to be closer to home, I want to be with a different crowd of people, haha:)I want to get out of Ephraim! I might miss it later, and regret wanting to get out so soon...but for right now...I just can't wait to be done!

Christmas!

Sheesh! Sorry it took me so long to post about my glorious Christmas! I had a nice long break...I got to go home on Dec. 11. It was so nice to be home with my family. and it was SUPER NICE to be away from school! No proffesors, no homework, no roommates, you get the idea!

I had so much fun hanging out with my family. We ate out (probably more than we all should have!), went to see movies, played games, and just chilled. It was great! I also got invited to my best friend's house for his family's party! It was great to see them and hang out with them. Santa and Mrs. Claus came and I got to sit on his lap:)

Then we had the usual family parties. On the 23 Grandma and Grandpa Bennington had there infamous party! It was a sad day though, grandma had to get her gallbladder removed so gradma and grandpa weren't even there! But, we still had the party, and it was still great! We have the REAL Santa come to our party...and yes I still love to sit on his lap:)I got a lovely purple sweater:)

On Christmas Eve we had a party with my mom's side of the family! We went to the Henderson's in Holliday. We always eat potatoe bacon soup and rolls and yummy yummy things! Haha:)we all got so entertained by some kaleidescopes in the front room. Unfortunately I was unable to get pictures of all of us looking into them:)

Then it was finally Christmas Day! We woke up at about 8 AM and went downstairs together! I got some really great stuff! It was a great Christmas! I got some new clothes, an iPod dock, and UP! I LOVE THAT MOVIE!! AND...our family got a wii!!! It was such a great morning. After a slow get-ready, we went to Kurt and Pam's house to see what Santa left them and then headed down to my Aunt Paula's! In the car...I got a phone call...a very special phone call! It was my cute missionary boyfriend:) I told him I was in the car so he told me he'd call back in a few minutes.

When he called back, I couldn't help but cry! I miss him so much and to hear his voice is like music to my ears! My most favorite part of the phone call was simply that it was like he had never left. We picked up right where we left off and it was just another great casual conversation. I got to hear about his mission and some of his investigators. And he said a prayer for me in Khmer (that's the dialect of Cambodian he's speaking) and I LOVED IT!!! I told him about my life back here in Utah...about school, roommates, and general life. It was so magical. We got to talk for about 45 minutes. When it came time to say godbye I was extremely sad, but I knew that we had the BEST talk and it would be okay to let him get back to serving the Lord. This phone call made for a VERY happy Whitney. I got everything I could have asked for on Christmas.

The day after Christmas we went to my cousin John's house for his HUGE party. He serves the BEST food ever! It was delightful! New Years Eve was pretty bleak...I stayed home with my family. It was fun...we played some fun games and of course had yummy food! After the blur of fun holiday days...I had to wake up and come back to school. I was sad...and maybe cried a little. But it is nice to be back in Ephraim!

BOWL GAME!!!!

As many of my readers know, I have THE BEST job ever! I work on the President's Leadership Team at Snow College. This weekend, I had the Magical opportunity to be on the Bowl Committee for the Top of the Mountains Bowl Game held at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy. It was such a blast!

Kiatlyn, Meagan, Carli, and I left on Friday morning at 10:30. Kaitlyn drove...and what did she drive? A 2010 TOYOTA PRIUS!!!

The school bought some and we were lucky enough to take one! It was the ugliest car I've ever seen...and we all hated it! It was like a space car. There was NO KEY!! Only a small remote chip thing that had to be in the car. Once the remote was in the car, you pushed the 'START' button and the engine came on. There was NO GEAR SHIFT! Only a little joystick thing that you pointed to neutral, drive, or reverse. Weirdest thing ever! And it beeped at you when you didn't have a seat belt on, and while you were in reverse. There was not much power in the little prius...we had a few brushes with death! But it was fun, nevertheless.

We made our first stop in Provo at Mullet-Hoover, a jewlery/tophy/everything-you-can-think-of-store. We picked up the trophies that would be presented to the teams and the MVPs. What an experience that was! Then we were off again!
Once we hit Draper, we were all hungry for lunch. We stopped at Zupa's,

Kaitlyn's favorite! I got a salad, it was alright, needless to say, I wanted a hot meal! But it was fun:)

Then we finally got to Rio Tinto! One of Utah's most magical playgrounds:) We dropped off the trophies and headed out for more errands. We were lucky enough to have the BEST most IMPORTANT job ever: picking up thank-you baskets from an amazing chocolate company called C. Kay Cummings. DIVINE!!!

Then we ran a fun errand just for ourselves:) We went up a few blocks to this little place called Sage Market in downtown SLC. It is at this small, unknown, weird market that you purchase HI-CHEW, and AMAZING Japanese candy! YUMMY!

Then we were off again, back to the stadium to help set everything up for the banquet that would be held in honor of the football teams that evening. Everything there was perfect and ready to go so we left to check into our hotel room. We stayed at the HILTON Garden Inn and Suites.

WOWZA that place is nice! After check-in, we had a few more errands to run. We needed to deliver a few of the thank-you baskets we got earlier that day.

After the delivery of our little gifts, we needed dinner! YAY! Suppertime! Since a few members of the team were working the banquet, the rest of us needed dinner and kindly, Snow College allowed us to eat dinner on their tab. We ate at the great little Italian place on State Street called Johnny Carino's.

It was delish! After dinner we headed back up to the stadium to help clean-up and do any last minute things before the BIG day. There were none so we headed back to the hotel and hopped in the Hot Tub. I LOVE hot tubs:)

The next morning sure started early...7:15! We all got up, dressed in our spiffy uniforms, ate yummy breakfast, and headed to the stadium. When We got to the stadium, we split up for our MANY jobs to be done.

My job was to make sure all the Deseret News All-State high school players had their ticket and were informed about the goings-on of half time. I nearly froze my little bum off in the 30 degree weather! I was standing outside the whole morning at the tailgate party! Fun, yet so so cold! Once the game started, I was fortunate enough to get warmed up in one of the suites of Rio Tinto. Did I mention how nice those are?! They are AMAZING!! But unfortunately, duty called and I was off and busy once again. I was making sure all the stragglers that weren't on time(of the all-staters) got their info about half time. Then, I was running here and there, making sure things were going well.

Before I knew it, it was time to prepare for the half-time show! I used my sweet all access pass to get down onto the field. Have you ever tried to line up 70-80 freezing high school all-state players? NOT THAT EASY! By this time, the weather had dropped into the 20s and I was still FREEZING!!! And have you ever been in a terminal that goes onto a field? I think that all the wind in Sandy was blowing on me! After a little confusion and frustration, the half time show went (sorta) close to planned. We named all the players and then hurried them off the field. I never thought a half time show would go as long as this one did!

Luckily, I was able to eat some lunch and get warm again in the suites. But before I knew it, I was on my feet again, running to get stats to help with the MVP voting! After the voting, I was down on the field with the trophies! It was such a blessed moment when I was at the end zone and was right there to witness the Badgers take the game! They finally won the Bowl Game!

Then, it was trophy time! I was lucky enough to stand by the table to help give out the trophies! But let me tell you a little secret: the other team (Michigan Grand Rapids Community College) had the WORST sportsmanship I have ever witnessed! I've never heard so many f-words in such a short period of time! It hurt my little ears!
Then unfortunately we had to clean up and head home. I drove the ugly little prius home and couldn't have been happier to be home...and start warming up! Such a magical weekend I had! Thanks for reading!

Only 2 Weeks Left!!

My Thanksgiving break was so wonderful I didn't want to come back to school. But then I got thinkin...there's only 2 weeks left! This week will be a blast, the Snow College Badgers will be playing in the infamous Top of the Mountains Bowl Game and I got to go help with that! Hopefully I will get some pictures up of that! It's such a blast! Then after this weekend, there's just a mere 5 days left! YAY!!!! And finals week isn't too bad. It's the week before that gets me. So, I think I'll be okay! What a great couple of weeks I have left here this semester!

Halloween!

This year, I went home for Halloween and boy did I have fun! I was so ready to go home it was not even funny! I got home and got to play with my most favorite children and then me and Ty carved pumpkins! On Saturday we had a shower for Kaylee, and then I got all dressed up for the Trunk-or-Treat with my mom and Tyanna! So so fun! I'll let the pictures do the talking! :)

I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS WEATHER!!! It's finally my favorite season! FALL!!!! I love the smell, the leaves, the cool breeze, badger football, hunting season (Daddy that's for you!) and the excitment of the upcoming holidays! YAY for holidays!! Halloween...which I LOVE!! And the much anticipated Thanksgiving! It times of the year like these that really strengthen my testimony. What a beautiful place my Heavenly Father has given me to live in. What a great creator: the trees, the leaves, the colors, the breeze. How he did it is beyond me...but I AM SO THANKFUL for the wonderful season!
